Market Talk Learning Series
The series was developed to educate Market customers. Local chefs or the farmers themselves conduct the “Talks.” The class usually starts with a demonstration of how to cook or use the featured product. The speaker usually focuses on explaining the benefits of the product, how the featured farmer grows the food, and/or how to use those sometimes “funny” looking vegetables in your meals. Each class ends by giving the crowd free samples, recipe cards and a chance to ask the chef or growers questions one-on-one.
It’s free to attend. Rain or shine, each Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m. a session is held next to the Market’s office (coffee shop). There is seating for about 45 people and standing room for more; half of the space is covered. The “Talk” lasts for about an hour. Those who watch the entire “Talk” will be the first to receive recipe cards and the free samples.
A Big Thanks!
Our "Market Talk" series of presentations and demonstrations was a great success during the 2011 season. We'd like to thank all of those who participated and shared their time, expertise and products while endorsing local growers. Thank you!
