Fireside Orchard and Gardens is a family run orchard about 40 minutes south of the Twin Cities metro area, in Northfield, Minnesota. We grow favorite Minnesota varieties such as Zestar, Haralson, Fireside, Regent, Honeycrisp and Keepsake, as well as other popular apples like Cortland and McIntosh. We pride ourselves on producing the highest quality, tree ripened fruit to give you the best flavor and eating experience possible.

Doug Harvey remembers planting the original trees in the orchard back in 1971. He’s been a fixture at the Minneapolis Farmers Market for 15 years selling apples, fresh pressed cider, and pies in stalls 225-227. Mr. Harvey serves on the Farmers Market Board, is a member of the National Ski Patrol, and an avid triathlete.

Jake Schaefer is 30 years old. Grew up in Southwestern Minnesota in a town called Ghent. Lived there until attending college in 2000. Moved to Minneapolis in the summer of 2004 and has been working in the music business ever since. He is currently the marketing manager and publicist for Rhymesayers Entertainment, an independent hip hop record label with groups like Atmosphere, Brother Ali, Aesop Rock and more. He has been going to the Minneapolis farmers market as long as he can remember with his parents. And now, he says, it's something he makes a point to go to every weekend - now that he is a permanent resident of Minneapolis. One of the many reasons he decided to live in the Harrison neighborhood was due to the close proximity of the Minneapolis farmers market. He enjoys cooking, baking and making ice cream and sorbet out of what he can find seasonally at the farmers market.
